How many miles per gallon does my vehicle receive?

It is that time of the year again, the busiest travel season for commuters.  Whether you are traveling to visit family, friends or going Christmas shopping, some of you might be wondering how many miles per gallon (MPG) your vehicle receives.  It is not hard to figure it out.  You just have to divide the miles per gallon.  

The best time to calculate is when you are going to fuel your vehicle.  Take the miles driven (from your dashboard)  ÷  the gallons added; which is the amount of fuel you just added to your vehicle.  Once you have figured out how many MPG your vehicle received, do not forget to erase the miles driven on your dashboard so the next time you fuel up your vehicle you can figure out the MPG.  
Also keep in mind, performing preventative maintenance on your vehicles will continue to help improve your fuel economy. Autobahn will be happy to help you with  preventative maintenance on your vehicle.

The 10 Must-Do's for Your Vehicle this Winter

1.  Tire inflation is very important.  With ice on its way we need good traction.  Quality well maintained tires are required.

2.  Battery check is highly recommended.  Most battery failure occurs during the harsh winter season.  We can test your battery and charging system detecting weak electrical systems.

3.  Wiper blades.  Visibility is crucial.  We need to see clearly where we are going and oncoming traffic.  Visit us at AUTOBAHN and receive free wiper blades with your  service.

4.  Belts and hoses.  Your vehicle relies on these two items to keep the occupants toasty and the engine at proper temperature.

5.  Emergency kit.  Do not leave home without it.  If you are in need of kit, please contact us for pricing and availability.  Here are the items included in the kit:

• Blanket
• Flash light
• First aid kit
• Jumper cables
• Extra gloves
• Ice scraper and/or small shovel
• Water

6.  Keep AUTOBAHN'S contact information on hand.  If you get stranded on the road, first thing is to call for help.  You can give us a call at AUTOBAHN, 630-492-1258.  Weather your vehicle needs a jump start, flat tire or professional towing service, we will go to you and/or get help for you.  In case of an emergency, call 911.

7.  Fuel system needs to be topped off to prevent freezing.  Additives and fuel filter changes promote anti-freezing of fuel.

8.  Lights on your vehicle need to be properly operating.  Other motorists need to see you.

9.  Keep your vehicle clean inside and out.  At Autobahn you receive complimentary car washes when performing major service.

10.  Fluid and overall inspections.  Now is the time to address any issues.

• Oil service
• Inspection of brake condition
• Any visible fluid leaks
• Loose suspension components
• Cracked, ripped or damaged drive axle boots and/or drive train joints

Fans can enter the tailgate party — which runs from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Southwest Parking Lot — with their game ticket and receive soft drinks courtesy of Pepsi and hot dogs courtesy of Vienna Beef and Chicago Baking Co. while supplies last. The event is headlined by the band "Billy Ray Valentine" from 4 to 6 p.m., and features face painting and interactive games. Free parking is available from 2 to 4 p.m. The first 10,000 fans for the game will also receive Wolves regular-season magnetic schedules.
